I agree with this- would not wait for ACC to be disbanded-
Playing 5 schools from NC in one year in football is not attractive. If you take out the NC schools, the distances for the SEC and the Big 10 with a pod arrangement could work out pretty favorably. I think association of VT with the Big 10 would support the objectives of VT more in non-sports areas that the SEC. Being in the SEC could be more lucrative because of better revenue, although that is not a given looking way out past my lifetime. Either one (Big 10 or SEC) would be a step up
One other thing- I have an impression that ACC schools do not stand up for one another so much, excepting UVA and other state universities, which are usually obligated to support their in-state ACC peers (mostly NC). I say that because of one example- not helping with membership in the AAU. My impression is that former member Maryland was an exception- they have promoted VT as a member.
